The College Chapel.

The chapel was built in 1934. The stained glass was added about 1958. There was a memorial to Old Boys who fell in the Second World War and a set of carved Stations of The Cross. When the chapel came down with the rest of the buildings in 1984, these artefacts were preserved at English Martyrs Church, 154 High Cross Rd, Poulton, FY6 8DA, where they can still be seen.

A cenotaph to the fallen of the Second World War. The memorial is regularly adorned with fresh flowers and with a wreath of poppies on Remembrance Sunday. Norman Beard, of 15 Squadron RAF, took part in the Battle of Britain, 1940. Churchill said of these men "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." Bernard Foley, aged 18, was lost at sea during the Allied invasion of Italy.  Click on the pictures to enlarge.
