In 1975, Joe's won the Harry Johnston Trophy (soccer) for the second time. The event was marked by a celebration dinner on 5th May 1975. The progress to victory was not easy. An opposing player broke a leg and there was a pitch invasion. The Gazette's headline ran 'Fighting Pupils Storm Cup Pitch'.
