This is the Old School Song written by Rev Fr Walter Finbarr Cross
(1917-1978) and set to music by Egghead Atherton. It is sung by Derek
Chadwick (Joe’s 1958-1965) who writes: ‘I have put together my memory (of
almost 60 years) of the tune of the old school song. What I find
surprising about myself is that I still have quite a clear memory of an
indifferent tune set to banal words! Why? one wonders. Enjoy it if you
can!
